Making Strides Against Breast Cancer 2009

The Central Square Teachers Association, as well as other staff
members of the Central Square School District made Strides Against Breast
Cancer, once again, in 2009. Faculty and staff supported NYSUT’s
initiative in the American Cancer Society’s 3-mile walk in Syracuse,
on Sunday, October 4th.
Presently, the tally of donations equals $1782
for the district, however last minute donations, and high school health
class contributions are still pending. Ann Losurdo, from the
middle school collected the most donations with a total of $530, while
Brewerton Elementary contributed $300, MHP - $212, CSI - $210, AACole
- $205, PVMoore - $380, Cleveland - $100, and Hastings- Mallory - $95.

Despite the inclement weather
prior to the walk, many CS faculty and staff showed up to participate
in the walk itself. They included: Pam Potter and family, Rick Snavlin
and family, Sheri and Bill Hansen, Brenda and Sarah Tracy, Sheryl Kasarda
and Daisy, Anne, Kristin, and Gaitor Ploettner, Sonya Ocker and family,
Bea Gloude, Jim Sandford, Ann Losurdo, Alma Widger, Mickey Groff, Julie
and Lexi Barker, Val Schwalm, Kim and Nick Massaro, Alex Westerlund,
Alexis Dale, Carol Harrington, Sarah Oleyourryk, Jennifer Randesi, Caroline
Joss, Robin, & Miranda Stanton, and Judy Windhausen. Jackie
Parker, PV Moore health teacher walked along with many students, who
completed community service hours by participating.
