Central Square School District and Community Participate in Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk 2011

On Sunday October 2, members of the Central Square Teachers Association as well as other Central Square School District faculty, families and friends participated in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk in downtown Syracuse.

Each school in the district worked hard to collect cash and online donations to help in the fight against breast cancer. The grand total of what was collected in registration forms on the day of the walk, combined with online donations, Central Square School District raised $1,915 to benefit the American Cancer Society.

Many thanks to Building Team Leaders in each school for their hard work and dedication to this important walk: Jaime Kelsey, Cara Blake and Melanie Soluri-Wheeler- PV Moore High School, Judy Windhausen- Central Square Intermediate, Helen Bolen- Cleveland Elementary, Lisa Cecile- Hastings Mallory, Rick Snavlin and Pam Potter- Brewerton Elementary, and Lisa Archer- District Office.

Many Central Square faculty, families and friends showed up to join us in Making Strides. They included: Rich and Heidi Zufelt and family, Rick Snavlin and family, Sarah Alsante, Cara Blake, Deanna Cogswell, Ashley Cogswell, Carrie Dashnaw, Paige Dashnaw, Ricky Hardman, Alyssa Plumadore, Tina Plumadore, Grace Simpson, Justin Lanning, Adam Wilkens, and Ben Rogers. Central Square Boy’s Varsity Lacrosse Coach Rick Snavlin walked with student athletes from his team, including Braden Lindsay, Ryan Zufelt, Tyler Hall, Nick Titus, Adam Mirabito, Malcolm Allen, Adam Wilckens, Ben Rogers, Mike Dashnaw, Zach Dempsey, Tyler Winn, Nick McGill, EJ Coombs, Brandon Leister, Aaron Revette, Giuseppe Nozzolillo and Sam Hatem. PV Moore teacher Nicole Heath walked along with PV Moore High School students Jess McChesney, Ashley Coleman, Heather Coleman, Tess Arnone, Grace Simpson, Tina Plumadore, Alyssa Plumadore, Zach VanAllen, and Tyler Winn.

On Sunday October 3, members of the Central Square Teachers Association as well as other Central Square School District faculty, families and friends participated in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk in downtown Syracuse.

Each school in the district worked hard to collect cash donations as well as online donations to help in the fight against breast cancer. Donation totals were as follows for each school: Brewerton Elementary- $259, Millard Hawk Primary- $165, Cleveland Elementary- $102, Central Square Intermediate- $115, A.A.Cole- $245, Hastings Mallory- $125, Central Square Middle- $235, and PV Moore High School- $474. The grand total of what was collected in registration forms on the day of the walk, combined with online donations, Central Square School District raised $2,249.00 to benefit the American Cancer Society.

PV Moore teacher Nicole Heath walked along with PV Moore High School students Christina Plumadore, Erica Newman, Rich Sterling, Alyssa Plumadore, Allison Zieschang, and Margaret Crite.
